How to Tame Facebook Ad Manager, Part 2: 2 Time-Saving Tips

Before you begin to read how to tame Facebook Ads Manager Part 2, you can find Part 1 here. While Part 1 teaches you how to stay organized in your account, there are more ways to minimize time in Ads Manager while still getting the data you need. Below are two ways to create easily accessible views to help you speed through Ads Manager.

Preset Customized Columns Are Your Friend

If you think you’re spending too much time customizing your columns to get the exact data you need, you’re probably right. While the default preset column structure can occasionally be useful, there’s a good chance it doesn’t have what you’re looking for. When you find yourself customizing the columns to your liking, be sure to save your preferred view as a preset for easy access in the future. This is particularly useful when you have different views for the campaign, ad set, and ad levels.
At the campaign level, you’re likely more interested in a high-level overview. At the ad level, the preset overview from the campaign level won’t give you the data you’re looking for. When we look at ad data for conversions, CPAs, ad feedback, frequency, etc., having to customize the columns each and every time we view the data would eat up most of our time. Preset customized columns save you time and frustration!

Don’t forget to set your most used view as the default!

Filtering Is Faster

Rather than wasting time going through every campaign and ad set looking for a particular ad, put your great organization skills from Part 1 of this article to good use and start filtering! The filter section is located at the top right of ads manager, between the “search” and “date” sections. Not only are you able to filter by campaign, ad set, and ads, you can filter for things like objective, placement, and even metrics. After you have determined which filters are most important for finding your information quickly, you can save your filters for easy access later. When you save your filter, you can find it in the “saved filter” section.
Say goodbye to creating 15 filters every time you want to look at performance!
