Our Humans of 3Q series continues this week with Rob Murray, President, out of our Chicago office! Get to know Rob below:
How long have you been with 3Q?

Today is my first official day at 3Q. I am thrilled to get started!
Where did you work before 3Q?
I started with iProspect at its inception. In my almost 14 years with the company, I helped grow it into a $250M global performance marketing agency with over 1,700 employees in 55 offices in over 40 countries. I’ve spent the last five years as President at Skyward, where I helped grow revenue exponentially over a five-year period while implementing new operating models to improve customer delivery and retention. I’ve also been involved in the search and performance marketing industry, having served on the Search Marketing Agency Councils for Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft. During my time at iProspect, I was also on the Global Executive Committee of Aegis, PLC.
Explain your role at 3Q in three sentences or less.
I oversee operations in the U.S. and abroad. I’m building and optimizing a scalable structure and processes that will allow 3Q to become the ideal growth marketing partner to big, fast-moving global businesses. There is an incredible opportunity to leverage 3Q’s Silicon Valley heritage and scale it across the globe to bring disruptive thinking to disrupted industries and enterprise organizations.
What sets 3Q apart from other agencies in the industry?
I’ve had my eye on 3Q Digital for a long time. The combination of talent, culture, and truly unique portfolio of innovative clients is an incredible base to build a global powerhouse. The industry changes daily – sometimes hourly – which creates a ton of opportunity for an agile agency like 3Q to stay ahead of the curve. 3Q’s challenging, forward-driving clients and an entrepreneurial mindset are half the battle, and my job is to make sure our structure and processes are aligned to ensure we’re driving growth for our clients in ways that other agencies can’t.
What’s one thing visitors have to do in your city?
I’m looking forward to experiencing more of Chicago with the 3Q team. If you ever find yourself in Boston, I recommend walking the Freedom Trail, taking in a Sox game at Fenway Park, and getting a cannoli at Mike’s Pastry in the North End.
How do you spend your free time?
I love to spend time with my wife, Stephanie, and my two boys, Chase (10) and Grant (5). I’m also a big fan of Boston sports, which means I’ve celebrated a lot of championships since the Patriots won their first Super Bowl in 2001.
