Our Humans of 3Q series continues this week with Kelsey Brown, Senior Account Manager based in Denver! Get to know Kelsey below:

Explain what you do at 3Q in sentences or fewer:

I’m a Senior Account Manager. I drive paid social strategy, execution, measurement, and optimizations, and I identify growth opportunities both at a Global and regional level. The shorter version? I’m that nerd in the background who’s serving you relevant Facebook ads.

What are some personal tips/tricks you have for working from home?

Don’t be afraid to give yourself a quick break. Whether it’s going for a quick walk around the block, changing a load of laundry, or even playing fetch in the backyard, a quick 10 minutes away from the computer can do wonders to help you refocus and stay motivated.

What’s one marketing lesson you wished you had learned earlier?

Proactive listening is essential. It’s the key to success on identifying greater goals outside of KPIs pushing a program’s growth.

What’s something that makes your office cooler than the other 3Q offics?

Our bond. Even though Denver is one of the smaller offices, we have a unique relationship. We’re all more than just coworkers; we’re friends. We all enjoy spending time together both in and outside the office and are always joking around.

Have you participated in 3Q3%? If so, what has been your favorite experience?

Yes. I love the 3Q3% initiative! My favorite experience was during the holidays this past year. We spent half a day working with a non-profit sorting through clothes and brand new toys for them to put out in the store so families who couldn’t afford the holidays could provide their kids with a true Christmas.

What 3Q initiative outside of your job description are you most proud of being a part of?

I LOVE participating in 3Q3%!

When coworkers from other offices can visit once again, what’s one thing they absolutely have to do in your city?

There’s so much you can do in Denver that it’s hard to choose one. If I REALLY had to choose one thing, it’s definitely rent a Lime scooter and hit up every brewery and food truck possible in RiNo (River North Art District).

Tell us about your morale associate (pet: if you have one).

I have three associates who are my ride-or-die coworkers. First, I have my two dogs that keep me grounded during these crazy times. Scarlett (my sassy German Shepherd diva) always brings her toys into my office to remind me to get up and take a break. In reality, she want a quick game of fetch. Then I have Tiger (my little 14-year-old mutt) who is always down for a good cuddle session when I’m feeling stressed. I also a snail named Gary who is currently in a 40-gallon fish tank by himself until it’s safe to visit a fish store.

What sets 3Q apart from other agencies in the industry?

The people and their values. 3Q has some of the most innovative people I’ve worked with, and they never take ‘no’ for an answer. 3Qers truly care about helping their accounts grow and are always willing to step in and help. The relationships we develop with our clients are so strong that many view us as extensions of their teams.

What’s been the coolest thing you’ve done with your unlimited PTO?

I took a Tuesday off to spend some quality time with my mom. We went and got our nails done, I treated her to lunch, we went shopping, and we topped the day off with a Carrie Underwood concert.

What do you think has been the most interesting change in the marketing industry or in your channel this year?

COVID-19, hands down. Having a global pandemic had presented very unique challenges that have required the team to really think outside the box to achieve KPI goals while ensuring the brand stays positioned in a positive light.

If you were given an unlimited amount of money to invest into one upcoming or exciting marketing technology, what would it be?

Attribution models. So many companies still rely on last-click attribution to gauge a channel’s success, but it’s only a very small piece of the greater story. Many channels like display and Paid Social are deemed ‘unsuccessful’ because of last-click. In reality they are the first touch a user has with a brand and influence a high percentage of conversions.

How do you spend your free time?

I’m a bookworm and avid distance runner. I can spend hours sitting in a hammock reading novels, or running mile upon mile with my German Shepherd. My husband and I also recently bought a house, and now that I have a backyard, I’ve recently took up gardening.

What is the last thing you read?

Wild by Cheryl Strayed. I enjoyed reading her experience hiking one of the country’s longest trails, especially since I’d like to hike the entire Colorado Trail one day.

What is your next adventure?

Nothing solidified yet with COVID, but my husband and I are planning a road trip through Ireland in 2021 (fingers crossed).

If you could choose any TV show or movie world to live in, what would it be?

Outlander – I would love to live in the Scottish Highlands and experience the culture of the different clans.

What do you miss most about your office?

Spending time with the Denver crew and the wifi (mine is really bad).

What are your best tips for staying connecting with co-workers while you work remotely?

Have a virtual happy hour every couple of weeks. It’s a great way to wind down after a long week and get to know your co-workers on a personal level. Also, don’t be afraid to reach out to someone on Slack to casually chat. They probably need the break just as much as you do.

What’s Your Favorite Gif?

It’s more of a meme.
