Our Humans of 3Q series continues with Sara Pfitzinger, Director of Display and longtime pillar of our Chicago office.
What’s the first metric you check when you start the day?
I tend to check CPA first and then start to diagnose what optimizations to make on the campaign − do we need to pull back, do we have room to push harder, do we need to refresh creative, etc.?
What’s one metric you rarely bother to check?
CVR (conversions/clicks), though I spend a LOT of time looking at conversions/impressions.
What is your favorite advertising campaign?
Not digital advertising, but I loved the Bud Light “real men of genius” campaign.  It was completely on brand, while also being hilarious.
What one quality do you think is most important in successful digital marketers today?
Adaptability. Change is a constant for digital marketers − there’s always new technology, either through established or start-up companies.
What’s the best part of your office?
I love working from our Chicago office!  We moved (relatively) recently into offices that are spacious and have great amounts of natural light. They’re also right in the heart of the Loop, making it easy to get to summertime concerts in Millennium Park.
What advice do you have for someone who wants to work at 3Q?
Be ready to be challenged in really great ways – complicated problems, interesting clients, new ways of doing things.
Which of 3Q’s core values is most important to you, and why?
Everyone’s a client. Not only is it just the right way to treat people, being in a client services industry, you never know who will introduce you to our next client.
What has been your favorite perk item/activity?
We did a boat cruise of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan that was really fun − the weather was perfect and the views were amazing.
What trips have you gone on/do you plan to go on with your unlimited PTO?
Last summer, I went to Alaska, which I’d never visited before. I got to tour both Denali as well as cruise to see Glacier Bay National Park. A trip highlight was dog-sledding on a glacier! Next up, I’m hoping to go to Ireland (also never been there before).

Not satisfied with Chicago’s winters, our adventurer went to Alaska.

Hot dogs or hamburgers?
Hamburgers. Although it may be blasphemy for someone who lives in Chicago to say that.
