The traditional strategy of simply focusing on performance marketing, which has been a reliable source of success in the past, is not going to be as effective in the next phase of digital the marketing evolution. After extensive market research, we came up with the next wave in the digital marketing space – something we like to call “growth marketing.”
We surveyed 400 marketing decision makers on their knowledge of performance marketing and growth marketing. The goal of the survey was to learn how much our respondents understand about performance marketing, growth marketing, and the differences between the two. While more than 95% of respondents claimed to know the definition of both performance and growth marketing, the survey uncovered that there was more confusion than clarity.

While performance marketing primarily focuses on bottom of the funnel tactics, growth marketing combines upper and mid-funnel activities with lower funnel performance tactics to find new audiences, influence a purchase earlier in the buying cycle, increase conversions, and boost revenues.
